Privacy

Your information matters.

A plain-English explanation of what this website collects, why, and what happens to it.

Who runs this website

This website is run by Charlie Ruttle, based in the UK. If you have any question about your information, email hello@charlieruttle.com.

The contact form

If you send an enquiry, the form collects your name, email address, enquiry type and message, plus your organisation and how you heard about me if you choose to add them. That information is sent as an email to my inbox using Resend, an email delivery service, so that I can reply to you. It is used only to respond to your enquiry and to follow up on anything we agree. It is not stored in a database on this website, not added to any mailing list and not shared with anyone else. I keep the email for as long as is needed to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows.

The legal basis for this is my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me, and, where you ask me to do something, the steps needed before entering into an agreement with you.

Booking a call

Call bookings are made through TidyCal, which opens in a new tab. Anything you enter there is handled under TidyCal’s privacy policy.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising tools. Fonts are served from this website, not from Google.

Embedded players

Podcast and video players (for example Spotify or YouTube) load only when you press play. Until then nothing is requested from those services; once you press play, their own privacy policies apply. A direct link to listen or watch on the original service is always provided as well.

Hosting

Like any website, the hosting provider that serves these pages processes standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site securely and reliably. This website does not use that information to identify you.

Links to other websites

Links to LinkedIn, Spotify, YouTube, Substack, my businesses’ websites and other sites take you to services with their own privacy notices.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how it is used. Email hello@charlieruttle.com and I will respond as quickly as I can. If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
