What’s actually happening?

I’ll ask questions, listen and get underneath the problem rather than assuming AI is the answer.
Work with Charlie
There’s a lot of pressure on businesses to adopt AI.
New tools. New promises. New risks. And seemingly everyone telling you that you’ll be left behind if you’re not already using it.
But where do you actually start?
Perhaps your employees are already using ChatGPT without clear guidance. Maybe you’ve invested in tools but aren’t seeing the results you expected. Or perhaps you’re a business leader trying to understand what all this means for your people, customers and responsibilities.
That’s where I come in.
I help businesses navigate AI with curiosity, confidence and a healthy dose of questioning.
Not to adopt technology for the sake of it, but to understand where it creates genuine value, how to manage the risks and how to make sure people aren’t forgotten along the way.

Understanding the business
I’ve spent years working behind the scenes of businesses, dealing with the administration, processes, people and everyday challenges that keep things running.
So I know that introducing another tool isn’t automatically the answer.
Sometimes the problem is an inefficient workflow. Sometimes it’s a lack of clarity. Sometimes people are overwhelmed by change. And sometimes AI could genuinely make a difference.
My job is to help you work out which is which.
I bring together practical business experience, hands-on experimentation with AI and a growing focus on responsible adoption and governance.
I won’t arrive with a pre-packaged solution or tell you that everything needs automating.
I’ll ask questions, challenge assumptions, explore opportunities and help you make decisions that actually fit your organisation.
“Sometimes the most valuable AI advice is knowing when not to use AI.”
What I can help with
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to AI. Where we begin depends on your organisation, its people, what you’re already using and what you’re hoping to achieve.
You know AI matters. But what should you actually be doing with it?
Maybe you’re unsure where to begin, or you’ve already experimented with tools and now have more questions than answers.
We’ll explore where AI could genuinely support your business, what you’re already using and what needs to be in place before taking things further.
This could include reviewing workflows, identifying opportunities, evaluating tools and developing a realistic adoption roadmap.
The aim isn’t to automate everything.
It’s to make better decisions about what deserves your time, money and attention.
Your business might already be using AI. The question is, does anyone really know how?
Employees using personal AI accounts. Customer information being copied into tools. AI-generated work being shared without checks. No clear ownership, guidance or agreed boundaries.
Often, these things happen because technology moves faster than the guidance around it.
I help organisations understand their current AI use and put proportionate safeguards in place.
From AI policies, risk assessments and approved-tool guidance to accountability, transparency and human oversight.
Not governance that sits in a folder gathering dust.
Governance that people understand and can actually use.
People don’t need to become AI experts. They need to understand enough to use it well.
AI can feel exciting, intimidating, confusing or all three at once.
Everyone comes to it with different experiences, confidence levels and ways of learning.
I deliver approachable, practical AI learning for founders, teams and leaders, explaining what the technology can do, where it falls short and what responsible use looks like in everyday work.
We explore real examples, ask difficult questions and make space for people who might be completely new to the conversation.
No unnecessary jargon. No pretending everyone learns the same way.
Just meaningful learning people can take back into their roles.
AI isn’t standing still. Your approach to it shouldn’t either.
The tools change. The risks evolve. Regulations and expectations develop.
But keeping up with every model release, announcement and new platform is exhausting.
I help businesses make sense of what’s changing and, more importantly, what actually matters to them.
That could mean reviewing your AI approach, refreshing internal guidance, supporting decision-makers or exploring opportunities as they emerge.
You don’t need to chase everything.
You need to understand what deserves your attention.
The landscape keeps changing
Your strategy has to move too.
Ways to work together
Whether you’re exploring AI for the first time, trying to make sense of what’s possible, or looking to build stronger foundations for responsible adoption, there’s more than one way to get started.
Every organisation is different. The aim is to find the right starting point, not sell you something you don’t need.

My approach
First understand it. Then question it. Then decide what to do.
I’m not interested in giving you a 40-page document full of impressive terminology if it doesn’t help you make a decision.
My approach starts with understanding the business before recommending the technology.
What’s actually happening?
We start with your organisation, people, goals, challenges, processes and current AI use.
I’ll ask questions, listen and get underneath the problem rather than assuming AI is the answer.
What’s working, what’s missing and what could go wrong?
We review opportunities alongside risks, including tools, workflows, data handling, accountability and governance gaps.
That includes the AI your organisation knows about, and potentially the AI it doesn’t.
What are we going to do about it?
We turn what we’ve discovered into realistic, manageable next steps.
That could mean an adoption roadmap, clearer policies, staff training, improved workflows or a recommendation to leave something alone.
Because sometimes the most valuable advice is knowing what not to do.
Beyond the technology
Of course, efficiency matters. Saving time and reducing costs can make a real difference.
But I also want to ask what happens to the time we save.
Does it give people more room to think, create and develop? Does it reduce overwhelm? Does it improve the experience for employees and customers?
Or do we simply fill the space with more work?
Technology should create meaningful opportunities, not just increase expectations.
I’m genuinely excited about AI.
I experiment, build things, explore new tools and regularly disappear down a technical rabbit hole.
But enthusiasm shouldn’t mean switching off our judgement.
We can be excited about what AI makes possible while asking difficult questions about privacy, bias, security, transparency and accountability.
I think we need to do both.
As a neurodivergent founder, I know how often systems are designed around assumptions about how people should think, communicate and work.
AI presents an opportunity to do things differently.
But only if we consider accessibility from the beginning and involve the people who will actually use the technology.
A system isn’t successful just because it works technically.
It also needs to work for humans.
I don’t expect clients to agree with everything I say.
I want us to question assumptions, explore alternatives and make informed decisions.
I’m not here to make your business dependent on an AI consultant.
I’m here to help you build the understanding and confidence to navigate technology yourself.
AI should give us more than productivity. It should give us possibilities.
Who I support
I work with founders, SMEs and organisations navigating AI at different stages. Choose the group closest to you to see where we might start.
Understanding where AI can help without adding unnecessary complexity.
You don’t need a perfectly defined project or even to know exactly what you need. That’s what the first conversation is for.
Working together
We start by understanding your organisation, what prompted you to explore AI and what you’re hoping to achieve.
From there, we can decide whether a workshop, assessment, advisory session or broader project makes sense.
We’ll agree the scope, deliverables, timescales and fee before any work begins.
I also believe in being clear about my own role and expertise.
If your project needs specialist technical implementation, legal advice or another discipline, I’ll be transparent about that rather than pretending one person should do everything.
Good AI adoption often involves different expertise working together.
The right outcome matters more to me than selling you the biggest project.
Let’s talk
Whether you’re curious about AI, feeling overwhelmed by it or beginning to realise your organisation needs more structure around how it’s being used, I’d love to hear what’s happening.
No pressure to know all the terminology. No expectation that you’ve already got a strategy. And definitely no obligation to automate your entire business.
Let’s understand where you are, what matters and what responsible progress could look like for you.
